Cameroon football star Samuel Etoo will announce his candidacy for the presidency of Cameroon's football federation.
The announcement was made on Tuesday on his official Facebook page.
"I have decided to take this decision because I love Cameroon and love our football," Samuel Eto said in a statement.
He also wrote, "it's time to rebuild our football".
After several rumors, Etoo has decided to run for office when there is controversy over the double citizenship ban in Cameroon.
Samuel Etoo was a Spanish citizen when he was playing for Spain.
Among the conditions required to be a presidential candidate for the Cameroon football federation, is the ban on having a foreign nationality.
Samuel Etoo is the third former president to run for the presidency of the football federation in Cameroon.
However, it is still unclear whether his candidacy will be confirmed.
Elections are scheduled for December 11.
