Gasoline vehicles not to be sold in Europe by 2035

The European Union (EU) today proposed a ban on the sale of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles by 2035. This proposal is part of a larger environmental proposal that will speed up the transition to the use of non-gas-powered vehicles.

The Council of the European Union (EU) has recommended that by 2030, emissions of greenhouse gases be reduced by 55 percent, a higher target than the current one by 37.5 percent.

The council also said that by 2035 petrol and diesel vehicles will no longer be sold in EU countries so carbon dioxide from cars will be 100 percent removed from the air.
