Musician Kanye West has filled out the paperwork to officially change his name to Ye.
He described his "personal reasons" in court documents filed in Los Angeles.
The move comes three years after the music star, model, and dreamer of running for the US presidency wrote on his Twitter page about changing his name, after releasing an album titled Ye.
Representing the abbreviation of his current name, the 44-year-old musician previously said the new name for him has great significance in religion.
'' I believe 'ye' is a common name used in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means' You '' West said in 2018, when he was talking about his album with radio presenter Big Boy.
'' So I am you, I am us, it is us. It started with Kanye, which means only to be the One who highlights our goodness, our ugliness, our confusion, everything. ''
The star is expected to release another album, named after his mother Donda, although the release of the album has been postponed several times.
