EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss a new military alliance between the United States, Britain and Australia named AUKUS, which has canceled an agreement between Australia to buy French submarines.
EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano said the summit would take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA.
Stano said this was the first opportunity for European Union ministers to discuss the impact of the agreement, not only on the issue between France and Australia but also on the outcome of the entire AUKUS agreement.
