Some nightclubs in England have begun demanding passports to show a person's corona status to enter as lawmakers discuss the use of those passports.
These Covid passports approved by the health ministry allow users to show confirmation of the vaccine they received, the tests they received, or their immune status when they wanted to enter the venues.
The passports are available through a mobile app from the UK health ministry, which is different from the Covid-19 program in England and Wales. Ministers had been asked to cancel the passports or give MPs a chance to discuss the issue in parliament.
Liberal Democrat Home Affairs spokesman Alistair Carmichael accused the ministers of guaranteeing the use of the passports.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced earlier this month that people attending nightclubs and other large venues where crowds gather will need to be fully vaccinated from the end of September.
Some owners of nightclubs had previously told the BBC that the Covid passports were "unworkable" and that they would not need them.
