English winger Jadon Sancho says joining Manchester United is a "dream come true" after completing his £ 73 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho is England's second most expensive player of all time behind his new United teammate Harry Maguire.
He joins United on a five-year deal.
"I will always thank Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play in the first team, although I always knew that I would return to England," Sancho, 21, said.
"The opportunity to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I can't wait to grow in the Premier League.
"This is a young and exciting team and I know, together, we can continue to be something special to bring about the success that fans deserve."
United agreed a fee for Sancho on July 1 and his five-year contract with the club has the option of extending for 12 months.
The end of the deal puts an end to United's long-running search for former Manchester City player Sancho, who was expected to sign him last summer but could not agree on a deal.
Sancho scored 50 goals and helped score 57 goals in 137 Dortmund matches.
United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Old Trafford will give Sancho "the platform he needs to deliver his untapped talent".
"Jadon is the kind of player I want to bring to the club - he's the best player in Manchester United's style," Solskjaer told the club's website.
"He will be an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him thrive. His own goals and supporting records stand out and he will also bring great speed, beauty, and creativity to the team.
Sancho's return to the English league comes after helping the national team reach the final of the Euros, where they lost on penalties to Italy.
The former City midfielder, along with Bukayo Saka and now United teammate Marcus Rashford, were targeted in racism on social media after failing to score on penalties.
Sancho's move to Old Trafford will see him join England teammate Rashford, but also Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood for what could be a dangerous offensive line for the Solskjaer team.
Sancho scored 16 goals in all competitions during the 2020-21 season, five under Rashford, but four more than Greenwood, and nine more than Martial. Cavani, who joined United on a free transfer last year after leaving Paris St-Germain, shook the net 17 times.
In four seasons at Dortmund, Sancho assisted in scoring 57 goals and created 65 big chances, more than Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Cavani in the same period.
Sancho is also doing well compared to the big names in Europe.
Since the start of the 2018-19 season, only seven players have scored and helped score more goals than the England international. Of those players, only Lionel Messi (43) of Barcelona has scored more goals than Sancho (41) at the time.
