Madagascar famine is forcing people to eat insects
Madagascar is on the brink of "climate change caused by climate change", according to the United Nations, which says thousands of people are already suffering from high levels of hunger and food insecurity after four years of drought.
The drought - the worst in four decades - has further affected the farming community in the south, causing them to turn to eat insects for survival.
"This is a state of famine caused by climate change, not conflict," said United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization official Shelley Thakral.
The UN estimates that 30,000 people are currently facing high levels of internationally recognized food shortages - and there are concerns that the number of victims has increased dramatically as Madagascar enters the "thin season" before the harvest.
