The Olympics for people with disabilities start in Tokyo
The Olympic Games for People with Disabilities have landed today in Tokyo Japan without fans in the stadiums due to the coronavirus epidemic as it was just at the recently concluded Olympic Games. Japanese King Naruhito has officially opened it, this time under the slogan "We Have Wings".
Among the few guests in attendance were Douglas Emhof, husband of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, President of the International Olympic Committee for Persons with Disabilities Andrew Parsons, and President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.
The opening ceremony included the flags of the 162 nations represented, as well as the refugee team. The Afghan flag was carried by a volunteer despite the country's absence in Tokyo.
