The World Health Organization says that only 14 African nations have reached the goal of vaccinating 10 percent of their citizens against Covid-19.
This is because the Covax program, which aims to help poor countries get vaccinated, has not been able to do so after rich countries have bought all the vaccines.
Of those 14 countries are Seychelles, Mauritius, and Morocco which have successfully achieved the international goal of vaccination against Covi-19 so far.
Fourteen percent of the citizens of the three countries have received full immunizations.
The four countries that have reached the international target of the vaccine are Tunisia, Swaziland, Cape Verde, Botswana, Comoros, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Mauritania, Lesotho, and Rwanda.
Covax's immunization program was expected to deliver 274 million doses of vaccine to African countries by the end of September but has managed to deliver more than five million doses.
