The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said it has not yet reached the point of taking action against its controversial director.
The IMF said it had interviewed Ms. Kristalina Georgieva over the weekend, and that it had made significant strides in identifying the facts.
An investigation by a law firm known as WilmerHale claims that, while working for the World Bank previously, there was a time when the woman pressured workers to favor China.
He told the IMF executive board that the allegations were based on rumors.
The issue is expected to dominate the IMF's annual meeting with the World Bank which is expected to begin today.
