The human remains found in a Florida parking lot on Wednesday have been confirmed to belong to the murdered blogger's fiancée, the FBI said.
Brian Laundrie had been missing for more than a month, and his body could be identified using dental tests.
Laundrie, who had been closely monitored in the death of Gabby Petito for returning alone to Florida last month on a trip with her partner.
His body was later found in Wyoming, an area visited by the couple.
The attorney representing Laundrie's parents has issued a statement saying: "Chris and Roberta Laundrie have received information that the body found yesterday belongs to Brian.
"We have nothing extra but we ask people to respect the privacy of Laundries in this difficult time."
On Wednesday, officers found part of the human remains underwater. Other items found during the search are Brian's book.
Petito's parents reported missing their daughter on September 11 after not seeing her or contacting her in August.
When Mr. Laundrie returned to Florida without Petito on September 01.
Petito's family wanted the family of their daughter's fiancée to be involved in supporting the investigation but even the fiancée also disappeared.
