The international journal 'Firepower', which compares the capabilities of the world's military forces each year, has compiled a list of 138 nations as well as their strengths.
The report looks at the number of weapons, military and financial resources that these countries use in military operations.
First place in the list does not change every year. Although some countries have different capabilities each year.
The four nations that have not changed their positions in recent years include:
1- United States
2- Russia
3- China
4 India
Turkey dropped
For the first time since the beginning of this year, Turkey has been relegated to the list of the top ten most powerful nations. But Egypt has managed to reach the top ten, making it one of the best military nations in the world.
In Africa, Egypt is the world's leading ninth nation
Other nations are:
5- Japan
6- South Korea
7- France
8- UK
9- Egypt
10- Brazil
For the past two years, Turkey was ranked ninth while in previous years the nation was ranked eighth, but this year it has been 11th.
Saudi influence
Some have dropped slightly while others have not.
But among the biggest changes, this year is Saudi Arabia being among the top list for the first time.
The empire, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has reached 17th place with Israel at number 18 on the list of the world's most powerful nations.
In 2016, Saudi Arabia was ranked 24th while Israel ranked 16th in the list.
The following year, 2017, Saudi Arabia remained ranked 24th with Israel 15th.
In 2018, Saudi Arabia came out of the top 25 but Israel finished 16th.
