The weather has continued to worsen in Germany where more than 30 people have died and several others are unaccounted for.
Among the dead were two firefighters. Troops have been deployed to the worst-affected areas and there are fears the death toll could rise as evacuation efforts continue.
The dead were unable to evacuate early to flood-prone areas in western Germany.
The floods were caused by heavy rains that showed up yesterday. Some of the houses were flooded and between 50 and 70 people were unaccounted for.
The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains that continue to fall today that will accompany the storm and that the rains will continue until tomorrow evening.
The visiting Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she has contacted the interior and finance ministries to provide assistance when needed.
