A former head of network programming at the US defense ministry Nicolas Chaillan has said the United States has already lost to China in its quest to become a leading country in design intelligence technology.
Chaillan said China is set to become a world leader due to the huge strides it has made in its networking capabilities.
China, the world's second-largest economy, tends to dominate many important technologies and especially the technology to create intellectual property design, biotechnology, and genetic engineering technology in about a decade. That is according to an assessment conducted by Western intelligence agencies.
Nicola Chaillan, a former network security officer in the defense minister who resigned in protest of the United States' backwardness in bringing about technological change in the country's military, said the US failure to take action was jeopardizing.
He added that the United States currently has no chance of competing against China in the next 15 to 20 years.
